dance team

The Mecher-Dallas dance team is set to perform at the spring dance show on March 29, at Melcher-Dallas High School.

This season, all dancers are stepping out of their comfort zones and discovering new things they like, such as duets and coed dances, as the spring dance show approaches.

As the girls become more confident in themselves, the coach has been “willing to try new stuff with us, like more hip-hop,” said Jo-Isha, a Senior. As the season progresses, it seems that both dancers and coaches preferred dancing to hip-hop music.

Coach Sadie Kennedy agrees with trying more hip hop, and with the confidence in the girls she is looking forward to the spring dance for the girls. “More girls are more confident in trying solos,” said coach Sadie.

Coach Sadie said that the spring dance show will start with a clinic for the little kids to sign up. Afterwards, the dance team will showcase the dances they have already done, and then the ones they are going to do.

High school captain Sydney Busick said they have “great things planned for the spring dance show.”
