MELCHER-DALLAS, March 6, 2025 — The Melcher-Dallas School District is pleased to announce the creation of a new Athletic Hall of Fame, which will recognize and honor former athletes, coaches, teams, administrators and patrons for excellence in Melcher-Dallas athletics. Melcher-Dallas plans to recognize the recipients of the inaugural class during a yet-to-be-determined home basketball game in January 2026.
“We are excited to honor these accomplished individuals and reconnect them back to the community,” said Activities Director Jim Crozier. “This is an opportunity to inspire current athletes by showcasing the tradition and legacy of Melcher-Dallas athletics.”
The district has established nomination criteria for each category of nominees —player, coach, administrator, contributor/patron and team. A player nominee must be a graduate of Melcher-Dallas High School and out of school for at least four years. They also must have received all-conference and/or all-state recognition in their respective sport and contributed at a high level both in athletics and in the community. Coach and administrator nominees must have been in their respective roles at Melcher-Dallas for a minimum of ten years. Nominees can only be submitted after they have left their positions. A coach, administrator or contributor/patron nominee must have contributed to the development of athletics in an outstanding way. A team nomination must be an accomplished group.
An Athletic Hall of Fame committee has been formed and further details will be announced soon regarding the Athletic Hall of Fame nomination process and recognition plans for the 2026 class.
