FBLA students went to State Leadership Conference in Cedar Rapids over the last few days. They went to business meetings, workshops, competitions, and socials (including Jammin Bingo). Austin Remster and Kaden Schrader were awarded 9th place for their amazing Public Service Announcement presentation! I could not be more proud of this group of students!!

Junior high students are preparing to compete in the National History Day competition that will be held at Central College on Wednesday, March 26.
Six students completed projects to compete at the National History Day competition at Central College today. Wyatt Buress created a documentary called "The Buck Stops Here!" and Sophia DeHeer wrote a paper entitled "The Advancement of Same Sex Marriage Rights in United States." One group will advance to State competition: Hudson Cox, Kyler Reschly, Makenna Lewin and Alivia Smith wrote and performed their skit "The Rights of the Melcher-Dallas Coal Miners and the Responsibilities of the United Mine Workers: Changes that need to be made in the Melcher-Dallas Coal Mines." Lots of research, learning and hard work went into all of the projects this year!

Austin Remster has completed a research paper for the World Food Prize Global Youth Institute after researching food insecurity due to poor education in India. He will present his findings and suggestions to a panel of professors at Iowa State University in April.
